When it comes to sweets, I remain loyal to my favourite few. I will go out of my way to get Macarons, make Cheesecake runs. Throw in some Froyo from time to time.
I wouldn't say I'm a huge ice cream gal. Ice cream and I have a different sort of relationship. It's something I wouldn't actively seek out, unless tempted with Haagen Dazs or Magnum during hot summers.

Which struck me as concerning, when I found myself, with a friend, standing in line at Earnest Ice Cream, on a miserable Saturday night, nonetheless. I wondered why there were so many people floating in and out to get a scoop of ice cream on this chilly, drab evening.
Surrounding me were regulars, quick orders placed and rung up. Others, first timers, discussing their options and asking for a spoonful of samples. The lack of children was a pleasing change. Seats and tables were filled, with every possible space being occupied with a patron and their beloved ice cream.

Scanning the list, my eyes honed in on London Fog. A favourite drink classic on my list, I briefly pondered how that would translate, before catching a glimpse of my ice cream go-to - Matcha Green Tea.
A mental debate ensued. Matcha Green Tea? London Fog? I hastily placed my order before I could change my mind. London Fog it is.

Stepping off to the side, we were handed our cones. Noticing the lack of seating, we chose to make ourselves comfortable, loitering by the doorway. Preoccupied in discussing the fact that seats were being snatched up at a surreal pace, my impatient friend took the first bite. Grabbing my arm with widening eyes, she was at a loss for words, instead, urging me to "hurry up, you NEED try it".
That first bite. Some would call it heaven, I call it paradise. With that London Fog Ice Cream in hand, you could momentarily forget about all your toils and troubles, all the terrible things happening in the world, lost in your own paradise.
If you haven't experienced the pleasure of Earnest, I urge you to make a trip. I promise it will be worth every effort.
